We're Engaged!
Jami: Even though we had been talking about it for some time and even though we were going to dinner to celebrate six months together, I still had no idea that Hunter was planning everything that night. I knew he had taken my mom to breakfast one day and talked to her, but thought it would be a little while before he was able to talk to my dad. We went to dinner at Pandora's in Grayton Beach (which was delicious!) and decided to have a drink afterward. It was freezing outside and the indoor/outdoor bar only had one heater working so we sat and talked in the shivering cold, sipping our drinks. We planned to finish the night at Bud & Alley's, the site of our first date and the place where we first said "I love you". Leaving Pandora's, Hunter asked if I still wanted to go, and since it was so cold, I considered for a second just going home, but said we should go for a little while. (Within that second, Hunter said he was freaking out a little, trying to figure out what to do as a back-up plan). It was kind of a quiet drive to Seaside - -I guess he had a lot going through his mind! We pulled up to the front and stopped for a kiss at the entrance to Bud & Alley's, just across from the Seaside Post Office. The next thing I knew, Hunter was down on one knee with a black ring box in his hand. It really felt like the picture below with everything all a blur. I know that he had a lot to say, but the only thing I can actually remember him saying was,"I'm telling you, Jami Anderson, I love you and I can't live without you. Will you marry me?" I had instant tears and hugged him while he was still on one knee. He said, "Is that a yes?" and I managed to say yes. Then, the tears were gone just as fast, he put a gorgeous ring on me and we were engaged!

After drinks at Bud & Alley's and being filled in on all the details, we came back to my apartment to find my brother Lloyd waiting with a bottle of champagne and a sweet note from my parents. We made only a few phone calls that night, popped the bottle and celebrated!
Here's another look at the ring. Hunter did an amazing job picking it out, with a little help and approval from his mom, my sister and the ladies at Kent Ltd. in Grayton Beach. I love it!
